What is happening when we sit around the fire sharing stories?

Presentation

2:50pm - 4:40pm BST [UTC +00:00]

Main Hall

To be human means to be a storyteller.

From the moment we are born we need to and want to communicate:  from cries, to coos, to smiles, to stories. As we grow, we learn to tell stories in so many ways – in actions, in words, in songs, in films, in dance, in art, in writing and books. We develop relationships with others through sharing events and experiences. Some of us have had our stories repressed or slashed or stolen through trauma.

This session focuses on how working together to (re)discover our unique stories can open our hearts and minds to ourselves and to others. Storytelling is essential to cultivate mutuality and both connect and protect us through intersectionality.
