About Caroline

Caroline Stirk is a Therapeutic Social Worker, Certified Theraplay Practitioner and Practitioner becoming certified in DDP.

She qualified as a social worker in 2009 and has worked for Local Authorities in a variety of teams including child protection, looked after children and adoption. She now works part-time for Birmingham Children’s Trust for BTC which is a therapeutic service offering support to birth parents whose children have been adopted.

Caroline also works as an Independent Social Worker for a Therapeutic Support Agency supporting Special Guardian’s and adoptive families using DDP and Theraplay. She is trained in Therapeutic Life Story Work and is working towards becoming a qualified Play Therapist. She has personal experience as an adoptive parent to two children with learning difficulties and developmental trauma.
