About Andrea

Andrea Bassi has worked within children’s social care for over twenty years, focusing her career on supporting children, young people and adults who have experienced relational trauma and attachment disruption.

Her current role is Practice Supervisor in a specialist service called ‘Breaking the Cycle’, supporting parents who have lost a child to adoption and want to access therapeutic support. Her work focuses on building relationships where there may be no safety or trust and building connections where these may be limited. This role is about addressing intergenerational trauma and finding innovative ways to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Andrea is a Social Worker and trainee play therapist. She has completed additional training including, Therapeutic Life Story Work Diploma; Theraplay Certification; DDP Level One and Two; Foundations for Attachment/Nurturing Attachments Train the Trainer (groupwork programmes), Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Certificate; Video Interaction Guidance (VIG); Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) Foundation; Circle of Security Parenting Group Facilitator; and Attachment, Neurodevelopment Psychopathology (ANP) Certificate.
