Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to this 2024 DDPI Worldwide Conference website.

This website is run by DDPI Worldwide. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Measures to support accessibility

DDPI Worldwide takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of 2024 DDPI Worldwide Conference:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities
  • Include people with disabilities in our design personas

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

DDPI Worldwide is committed to making this website accessible.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard (WCAG 2.1 Level AA). Partially compliant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria:

  • Images of text are only used for decorative purposes.
  • The colour contrast ratio of body text and images of text is at least 7:1; large text and images of large text have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
  • Web pages do not contain anything that flashes more than three times in any one second period.
  • Motion animation triggered by interaction can be disabled, unless the animation is essential to the functionality or the information being conveyed.
  • Section headings are used to organize the content.
  • Timing is not an essential part of the event or activity, except for non-interactive synchronized media and real-time events.
  • Re-authentication after a session expires does not cause loss of data.
  • Some recorded videos have sign language interpretation.
  • Text transcription is provided as an alternative for pre-recorded video.

Non-accessible content

Partial WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance is for the following reasons:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • live video streams do not have captions
  • text labels for figures are used only where a caption is needed
  • PDF documents might not work with current assistive technologies because they use outdated technologies that do not support accessibility.
    • Information inside PDFs will be made available as printed documents for those attending in-person and as a webpage for those attending online. Please email if you have any issues.

We’ve prioritised our work to improve the accessibility of our websites based on analytics and any new pdf, HTML or alternative file format documents we publish will aim to meet accessibility standards.
